The International Pirate Hall of Fame constitutes nominator’s/nominee’s consent to grant them; anyone acting on behalf of them; or its respective licensees, successors, and assigns, a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-revocable license to use the content in your application in connection with the award, including, without limitation, the rights to distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate and reformat your content and to publish your name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, or image in connection with your content.
The Review Committee assesses all submitted nominations in accordance with the judging criteria to select the top 30 nominees. The Selection Committee reviews the top 30 nominations in accordance with the judging criteria to select the 10 finalists, plus two alternates.
If a nominee is selected to as a finalist, nominees will be contacted by an official representative of the International Pirate Hall of Fame for screening prior to the second phase of the selection process. This screening is an opportunity for the nominee to better understand participation, expectation, and commitment between nominee and the International Pirate Hall of Fame. At this stage, nominee will opt-in or opt-out of consideration for induction into the International Pirate Hall of Fame. Upon opt-in, the finalist will be contacted by email. Finalists may be required to sign and return, where legal, an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release within five (5) days of
notification. If the nominee cannot be contacted within five calendar days of first notification attempt, if any notification is returned as undeliverable, if the nominee opts-out, or in the event of noncompliance with the stated rules and requirements, such nominations will be forfeited and may be awarded to the nomination with the next highest score.
The International Pirate Hall of Fame reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process, and may prohibit a nominee from participating in the International Pirate Hall of Fame process at its sole discretion, if it determines that said nominee is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the International Pirate Hall of Fame by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, delay, hinder, threaten, or harass any other nominees or International Pirate Hall of Fame representatives.
